I received my PhD from the department of Statistics, University of Missouri-Columbia (Advisor: Dr. Jianguo (Tony) Sun) in May 2013, and joined UNC-Charlotte (UNCC) as a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Statistics in August 2013 (with maternity leave during August-December 2016). I have a broad background in statistics, with specific training and research expertise in panel count data analysis, recurrent event data analysis, survival analysis in event-history studies. My research has focused on novel methodology development to address realistic, data-driven statistical questions when existing approaches do not apply. My methods have provided statistical solutions to epidemiology, cancer research and clinical follow-up studies via collaboration with researchers from academic institutions and hospitals. I am interested with and welcome problem-driven and data-driven research collaborations.
